Steam Traps & Temperature Control Valves
Ogontz OPT series pinch traps- This product was awarded the 1998 Product of
the Year in Plant Engineering magazine for the fluid products category.  This valve can
be used in drip legs, winterizing steam tracing, process steam tracing , maintaining
analyzer sample lines, instrument enclosure heater discharge, autoclaves, radiators
and light loads.

The self-repairing variable passage design makes the Ogontz Pinch Trap immune to
etching, a common cause of steam trap failure.

Ogontz TL series temperature control valve is a fully self-contained,
temperature-actuated control valve.  It effectively eliminates steam waste by
automatically regulating the supply of steam in response to changes in ambient
temperature.  As a result, the TL valve achieves dramatic reductions in the amount of
steam consumed, with annual savings averaging eight times it installed cost.

This valve is commonly used to regulate steam flow into a unit heater. Unit heaters are
commonly installed in plant storerooms, warehouses, instrument shops, and various
other industrial manufacturing buildings as a means of heating the building in the winter

Another common application for this valve would be to have it installed upstream from a
loop of steam drip legs/or tracers.  This will save a significant amount of money on
steam cost through reduced usage.
Ogontz IEV instrument enclosure valve-  A compact steam control device
providing precise, reliable, and economical temperature control in instrument and
analyzer enclosures.

  • Thermal actuator controls flow of steam as needed – eliminates danger of
    overheating temperature sensitive instruments or analyzers

Ogontz ST series temperature is a fully self-contained temperature
control valve
.  It effectively maintains the desired temperature in a process pipe or
storage tank by automatically regulating steam flow in response to changes in fluid
temperature.  As a result, its operation minimizes costly steam waste and prevents
damage to process fluids due to overheating.

Ogontz F series temperature control valve- This valve is commonly used to
protect lines from freezing on safety showers and/or eyewash stations.

  • Fail-safe (direct acting valve opens)
  • Self contained actuator:  solid/liquid thermal actuator requires no external power
    or remote signal
  • In-line serviceability (exception ½ F Tubular)        
  • Insensitive to line pressure
